Your wedding catering package should make the meal easier to plan. The most useful details are the ones that tell you what will be served, how it will reach your guests and who is responsible for each part of the setup.
When comparing catering for a Palm Springs or Coachella Valley wedding, work from the written proposal for your celebration. Packages can cover different things, so a price alone will not tell you whether two options include the same service.
Start with the meal you want
Choose the menu and decide how you would like guests to enjoy it. Family style service brings shared dishes to the table. A buffet gives guests a serving area to visit. If you are considering another format, discuss it with your caterer before building the rest of the plan around it.
Think about the space, the number of guests and the pace of the evening. Tell your caterer about speeches, dancing or other moments that need to fit around the meal.
Confirm what the catering service covers
Ask for the details that apply to your wedding:
- The menu selections and guest count
- The agreed service style and meal timing
- The staffing and catering responsibilities included
- The setup and cleanup arrangements
- Any separate arrangements for drinks or dessert
If you would like a tasting, cake cutting or another service, ask whether it is available and how it would be included. Do not assume those services are part of every package.
Check the tableware and rental plan
For Desert Dine family style and buffet service, serving platters and serving utensils are included. Guest plates and cutlery are separate items to confirm. Rentals are separate.
Ask the venue what is already available. Then make a list of anything else you need, such as guest plates, glasses, napkins or linens. Confirm who is arranging each item and who will handle setup and collection.
Discuss dietary requests early
Share dietary needs before finalizing your menu and ask what can be accommodated. Keep the caterer informed if a request changes.
Desert Dine takes precautions with dietary requests, but cannot guarantee zero cross contact. A specific allergy or preparation requirement needs a direct conversation before you make promises to a guest.
Compare complete proposals
Check that each proposal uses the same guest count and covers the services you actually need. Review the total, payment schedule, change deadlines and cancellation terms in the documents for your event.
Make sure the latest version includes any changes you have agreed on. Ask what is required to confirm the booking and when the remaining details need to be settled.
Explore Desert Dine’s menus and tell us about your wedding. Once you have chosen a menu and we have the details we need, a proposal can be ready in minutes.
